How we estimate the extra revenue
The simulator shows yearly extra revenue as a share of what you already make. Low is the middle of the named range. High is the top of that range. Clinics, physios and salons sit above restaurants. This is an estimate, not a contract.
BabyRock Social: reviews and ratings
Harvard Business School (Michael Luca) found that a one-star increase on Yelp produced 5 to 9% more revenue for independent restaurants. The midpoint is 7%. We use 7% as the low and 9% as the high for restaurants.
A first-time patient, a new stylist, a florist sending a gift, or a garage cannot be tasted in advance. Those listings do more of the selling. So clinic and physio sit at 9 to 14%, salon, workshop and florist at 8 to 12%. Café and bakery sit a little below restaurants.
What replies do to the stars
Proserpio and Zervas (Marketing Science, 2017) found that when hotels started answering reviews they received 12% more reviews and 0.12 more stars on average. That is why we answer. It is not the percentage we put in the calculator. The calculator uses the revenue ranges above.
BabyRock Direct: no-shows, bookings, orders
OpenTable and operators put restaurant no-shows at 10 to 20% of reservations. A 30% cut on a 20% no-show rate recovers 6% of reservation-driven sales. Healthcare starts higher: Hasvold and Wootton (29 studies) found a median missed-appointment rate of 23%, with reminders cutting about a third. A physio RCT cut non-attendance from 16% to 11%. An empty chair does not take a walk-in. So Direct is larger for clinic, physio and salon than for a restaurant that still has walk-ins.
On top of recovered no-shows we add WhatsApp as a booking and order channel. Combined is Social plus 85% of Direct, so the post-visit review ask is not counted twice.

Yearly extra = monthly revenue × 12 × the percentage for your type and product. Figures are gross. BabyRock Social starts at 49.00 € a month, VAT excluded.

Your shop can land outside the range. We would rather show a clear commercial number with the sources next to it than a 0.84% formula nobody can feel.
